Terms of Use
Effective date: September 16, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the WeatherCore API, dashboard, and related services (together, the "Service"), provided by WeatherCore, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("WeatherCore," "we," "us"). By creating an account, generating an API key, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent.
1. The Service
WeatherCore provides weather forecast data — current conditions, hourly and 16-day daily forecasts, historical data, and severe weather alerts — through a documented API and an accompanying dashboard for managing API keys and usage.
2. Accounts and API keys
You're responsible for the security of your API keys and for all activity that occurs under them. Notify us promptly at support@weathercore.org if you believe a key has been compromised. We may rotate or suspend a key that appears to be misused.
3. Usage plans
The Developer, Startup, and Business plans described on our pricing page are usage plans: they set how many calls you can make and which endpoints you can reach. They are not, on their own, a license to redistribute WeatherCore data to third parties. See Section 4.
4. Acceptable use — reselling and wrapping the API
Usage plans are built for teams consuming WeatherCore data inside their own product — an app, a dashboard, an internal tool, a feature your users see. They are not intended for startups or businesses that offer WeatherCore's data, or a service built on top of it, as a third-party API to other developers or companies.
In plain terms: if you're building an API gateway, SDK, or "engine" on top of WeatherCore and issuing your own API keys to other developers or businesses so they can consume our forecast data through you, a usage plan does not cover that. You need a Production, White-Label, or Reseller & Partnership license from us first. This applies regardless of whether you charge for that access, rebrand the data, or change its format.
Beyond that, you agree not to:
- Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or usage metering
- Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it for other users
- Misrepresent WeatherCore data as coming from another source, or vice versa, outside the terms of a White-Label License
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
5. Licensing for production and resale
Production licensing, white-label licensing, and reseller/partnership agreements are handled separately from usage plans and are subject to their own written terms, agreed to individually with each licensee. Details are on our licensing page.
6. Payment and billing
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment processor. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may suspend access for accounts with a failed or overdue payment after reasonable notice.
7. Data accuracy
Weather forecasting involves inherent uncertainty. WeatherCore data is provided for informational purposes and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or suitable for decisions involving risk to life, safety, or property. Do not rely on the Service as a sole source for severe weather or safety-critical decisions.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or conduct that risks harm to the Service or other users, with notice where practical.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, WeatherCore is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
